Debi Hutchinson
Level 3 Trainer
I started teaching agility back when the sport was just a puppy! For many reasons, I chose to make NADAC my favorite flavor and to this day, it remains just that. Although I enjoy trialing in other venues and have worked diligently to incorporate the skills needed for success into my and my student’s, repertoires my NADAC foundation is always on display.
I have won NADAC Championships in multiple divisions but most importantly, my students and many of my seminar students have consistently won or placed in their divisions for years.
By my best count my personal students have been on the podium at NADAC championships approximately 37 times. Beyond that, I also have students who have placed at championship events of other venues. It is not infrequent for my students to also be in the top 10 nationwide in their venue of choice.
While I don’t often think of myself as especially kind , that is frequently how people who have taken my seminars describe me. I think perhaps what they are seeing is that I truly do like working with all kinds of dogs and people. I’ve owned Border Collies since I was 10 years old but I have successfully shown an Akita , several American Eskimos, Irish Setters , Goldens , Beagles, a McNab, Shelties ………. I strive to meet each team where they are and to help them develop the skills they want and need to achieve their goals. For that reason, I am frequently invited back for repeat seminars. That is an honor I don’t take lightly. As an instructor it is such fun to be able to return and to see goals achieved and to add bigger ones along the way. Not infrequently all the way to championships! While I always stick to my NADAC roots I am also always learning and open to new goals, new objectives, new paths and new experiences!
