Carol Scranton
Level 1 Trainer
Carol has been involved in agility training for various breeds for over ten years. Her training strategy is to focus on essential basics of groundwork, obstacles, and handler-dog interaction and relationship; all with the end game of competition and fun for dog and handler in mind.
As part of her training and competition career, Carol has developed techniques for non-verbal engagement with deaf dogs that have proven effective and beneficial for dogs with and without hearing impairment, as well as improved handler effectiveness.
Carol is focused exclusively on agility training and competition, owning and operating a fully equipped indoor agility training and competition facility in Whitefish, Montana. She organizes and hosts three NADAC sanctioned trials each year.
Carol has competed in NADAC agility for over 19 years, participating in 17 national championships in which 3 of her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have won top placings. Her newest, Killian Red, has the makings of following in their successful footsteps.
In addition to years of training and competing, she has invested in learning from numerous leading agility trainers. She has applied and adapted the accumulated knowledge and skills to her own unique and effective style of teaching, training, and competing.
